Find out. Use some planetarium software or even a Java website and look. There Ain't No Freakin' Alignment!
Not that it matters. Alignments are just VISUAL. They don't actually DO anything. The only heavenly bodies that have any affect on the Earth are the Sun and the Moon. Maybe Christina Hendricks.
You will get that joke when you are older.

Since there is no planetary alignment (not 12/21, not ever since the planets just don't orbit that way) there is no answer.
Hoaxes and trash generally don't have detailed facts.
But I guess its too much to expect kids these days to do some research - instead, its so much easier to believe any trash that comes along.
I wonder how many kids believe in King Kong or Transformers or the tooth fairy...

Planets line up all of the time, but I am assuming that you are referring to the supposed Earth, Sun, and Milky Way galaxy that some people believe will happen that day and will bring about the end of the world.
It is false - there is no such alignment. If somebody told you that, you are being misled.

No. The people who keep pushing this 'end of the world' scenario always point out that the Earth & Sun will line up with the center of the galaxy (most likely the 'planetary alignment' you've been hearing about), as if this a very rare & catastrophic event! fact is, this happens EVERY Dec. 21st...it's called the Winter Solstace!! There's nothing rare or unusual about it, and it's definitely not worth worrying about. This is why it's important to be scientifically litterate...so you know enough not to get sucked into ignorant people's paranoid, and just plain wrong, ideas.

There is no planetary alignment (at least not a true planetary alignment) on that day. Around sunrise and sunset you could almost draw a "line of best fit" through Saturn, Venus Mercury and the Sun, then a bit later through Venus Mercury Sun and Mars, but Mars is on the opposite side of the Sun to Venus and Mercury and Saturn so you won't see them all because the brightness of the day will make that impossible to observe. Besides planetary alignments are just pretty, it's not like a their gravity is added up or anything and they certainly don't form a true alignement.
You will need to get up just before Sunrise to see half of this so-called alignment and you will have to play fast and loose with the definition of a straight line.
You do realise this Dec 21st planetary alignment stuff is a hoax right?

Do you see any planetary alignment here, because I don't: http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/Solar?date=1&utc=2012%2F12%2F21+11%3A12%3A00&jd=2476948.34564&img=-k0&sys=-Sf&eyes=0&imgsize=320&orb=-b0&lat=47%B0&ns=North&lon=7%B0&ew=East&hlat=90%B0&hns=North&hlon=0%B0&elements=
Stop believing stupid rumours spread by nutcases and liars. 21st December 2012 will be just an ordinary day.

There is NO planetary alignment on Dec. 21. In fact a complete planetary alignment has never happened in the entire history of the solar system.
There IS an alignment of the Sun, Venus, and Saturn on December 21, causing Venus to transit the Sun as seen from Saturn. No other planets are involved.

It is impossible to have an alignment of all planets.
What many people see as being an alignment on Earth is NOT really an alignment, just the appearance of one.

The last time we were even close to a planetary alignment was the early 80's when both Voyager 1 and 2 flew past Jupiter and Saturn. Voyager 2 went on to fly by both Uranus and Neptune. The reason it could was the planets were on the same side of the Sun, the alignment was nowhere close to being perfect, now they are even farther out of alignment.

It would be a very difficult to predict such thing, especially since no alignment is supposed to happen at that time.

It's at never o'clock.
There is no planetary alignment on December 21. You've been misled.
