I don't mean for this question to be distastful. I was just wondering whether or not any of the astronauts might have had, or tried to have, sex while floating in space. Would it be possible with no gravity? Just think, they could say, "It was out of this world!". LOL

sex in space sucks

seriously.(or at least thats the rumor)

first.... blood pressure doesn't work the same as it does on earth, meaning it is VERY difficult to keep an erection.

second... each time you push on your partner, you are pushed away as is your partner.

third.... sweat does not evaporate since there is no gravity. up is completely lost so the evaporating sweat doesn't know where to go, so instead it sticks to you. even in temps of 70 F - 75 F astronauts complain of LARGE amounts of sweat which usually ends up getting in their eyes. (if you look at some shuttle pics, you'll notice many astronauts carry a towel to wipe it all off)

sweat is fun during sex, but too much of it makes you miserable.

then we think about having a baby in space.

well, micro gravity can GREATLY alter its development.

image how micro gravity changes the way we sweat, now imagine how it changes the way we grow.

Bones would be VERY VERY weak at birth, blood pressure would naturally be VERY low, the heart would be very weak because of that. Plus oddly enough, the babies immune system would be greatly inefficient for some reason.

The Russians were first, this time. A large rubber band, of suitable width, and thickness would be useful. The "wet spot" would not exist, to be replaced with a new problem, so I suppose new solutions will have to be found, like a large "love bag", or cloth zip on attachments to strategic areas of clothing, enabling a degree of separation, while retaining liquids. Space Core Directive 465986542.

No member of the crew shall attempt oral sex in a zero gravity field whilst wearing false teeth.

I think it was done between two Russian men onboard the Mir space station back in the 1980's.

The good thing about this particular escapade was that the cosmonauts didn't have to worry about getting one another pregnant!

Yes they have. I learned about this at Space Camp in Huntsville. and the link below also supports my answer.

I'm sure it's possible. I'll bet velcro would play a small part!

His sperm would be flying in space. Lol, that would be funny.
