Do you believe in John Titor and his time traveling machine?

No, considering all the predictions he made which didn't come to pass.

Rumors say? Don't listen to rumors. In this case they're being promulgated by two types of people: those spreading a hoax to make money, and those who actually believe them. NASA doesn't have exclusive rights to every telescope on earth, you know. They couldn't possibly keep something like this a secret. Remember comet Elenin, and all the rumors surrounding it? Those turned out to be squat, didn't they? After you live through enough hoaxes of this type, maybe you'll learn to listen to scientists instead of crack pots.

Titor had a lot more followers back in the 90s Usenet days before he utterly failed to mention/predict 9/11.

One of the interesting details is that the mystery posts on the Internet claiming to be John Titor a soldier participating in a time travel experiment was that he claimed the Many-World concept meant that if his claims did not come true, it did not invalidate his claims. However the main objective of his time travel was to retrieve a 1970's era IBM 5100 computer to counter the Unix 2038 problem ( similar Y2K ) and his stopover in 2000 was just for personal reasons. However, with the many-world concept, any time travel to retrieve an object from the past would not be returned to the originating timeline but rather to an alternate timeline so it would be fundamentally pointless to retrieve an ancient artifact by time travel as you would not receive it, someone else would. Of course, the 2038 problem doesn't exist in today's computers as Unix workstations have gone from 16 bit computers to 32 bit to 64 bit and 128 bit. The 2038 problem was a 32 bit problem so it no longer exists. Also, the computer languages used by the IBM 5100 would not lead to code embedded in today's software never mind the future's.

If you look at how the postings developed, they were elaborated upon by current events of the time which leads me to believe it's the creation of someone of the present not of the future.

You really can't take everything you hear on the radio show Coast to Coast AM seriously, they'll interview just about anyone.

Never heard of John Titor.

Time Travel is NOT possible. That is Science Fiction.

There is no known object on a collision course for Earth. There is a small possibility some very small asteroid or meteor that is so small it has been overlooked (so far) could be on such a course, but no big object could have been overlooked.

The John Titor posts are pretty well established as an internet hoax.

> is there a possibility that Earth will be impacted by a mass object soon?

Very unlikely.

> Rumors say

Classic weasel words!

> If that was the case NASA would have told the government about this.

Like many people, you misunderstand NASA's role in the scientific community, which is practically zero. NASA does very little science itself, and has no control over the dissemination of scientific information. They do maintain a web page on near Earth objects, but this contains information widely available elsewhere.
