Maybe they are light years away, or maybe they have already infiltrated society :O

Because stars are a long, long, long way from one another. It's unlikely that communication, much less travel, between them is a practical possibility. And of course there's no reason to suspect that any alien planets, much less relatively nearby ones, would have any sort of life that's any more advanced technologically than what we have here. With the sheer size of space it's remarkably unlikely that any intelligent species, much less any that are any more advanced than we are, would be anywhere near us.

Even if they were more technologically advanced that whole impossibility of traveling between stars thing still applies. Regardless, a quick glance at the history of life on Earth proves that evolution is not a race to develop intelligence and start building space ships. For over 1 billion years of life's existence here the most advanced thing going was bacteria.... Dinosaurs walked the Earth for well over 100 million years, yet none developed any more intelligence than the average dog. Humans have been walking around here for at least 2 1/2 million years, and our specific species for 200,000 years. Yet we've only been putting stuff in space for barely 58 years......... 58 out of 4,500,000,000. And most of our exploitation of space to this day revolves around things like communications satellites so we can get 200 channels of TV and talk to people. Maybe they're as narcissistic a species as we are. The sci fi version of practically every star system having habitable planets, and nearly all of those having intelligent life, makes for good stories. But is just not realistic.

Aliens, it would almost be statistically impossible for them to NOT exist somewhere in the universe. Aliens advanced enough to come here? Interstellar travel is SUCH an ENORMOUSLY difficult undertaking that automatically and by definition, any alien race capable of it is so advanced, that we could do nothing against them if they were hostile, they could just take it without having to, say, make deals with our leaders, and if they were interested in observation and/or blending in,,,,, they would be so good at it, that it would never seriously occur to us that they were visiting us. They'd be mind-bogglingly good at covering their tracks, better than any Area 51/X-Files (MIB etc...) would have us believe. Therefore, I don't know what UFO sighters/abductees are seeing, but I know what they are NOT seeing, namely, Aliens. So, no, I don't believe in aliens having visited Earth. Also, human civilization has only existed for 10,000 years, has only had a radio presence for 115 odd years, and most radio signals would have been muffled by distance.

Aliens have contacted our civilization. Why do we still spend billions of dollars trying to find bacteria on comets? It's a show. Now I believe that some countries are not in contact with these beings and are actually only at the point of looking for bacteria. America however has contact and is only doing it for show. Why do you think Obama cut the NASA funding? He believed it to be obsolete. They're here my friends, too much evidence to be otherwise.

Disclosure is coming my friends.

Possibly for the same reason that we have not contacted an alien civilization ---

which is that we lack the technology to do so.

The #1 problem is the immense distance between stars

#2 problem is which stars (if any) host a planet with life.

We are working on the 2nd problem, but the 1st problem remains a titanic barrier.

The Bible really describes alien contact with a leader and angels. Read the Old Testament in that light. Space travel takes thousands of years.

Because the aliens have seen how we are from the communications we've been sending out since the beginning of the radio age and they don't want anything to do with such a backward race.

Because this planet is still populated by morons who post Astrology questions in the Astronomy section.

If I led an advanced alien race, I'd not talk to us, either.

Because the universe is really big. The closest planet that might have intelligent life on it is light years away and getting there or someone from there coming here would take hundreds of years. So far we haven't even been to Mars.

Distances between stars are immense. Life forms can't overcome that.

Ooh they have. Plenty of times. Look at any number of drawings of ancient civilisations.

The Mayans have a carving of a man in some sort of pod with fire below him.

It clearly depicts an astronaut in a small space shuttle.

The ancient Egyptians depict several impossibly tall humanoid beings towering over humans with egg shaped heads.

Any ancient civilisation with carvings or drawings will have something resembling spaceships or astronauts or something not possible in their time.

Aliens have come to us many times.

If there *are* any.....

Maybe because we're not advanced enough. Since we obviously don't know our own languages very well....

Or because not enough people have the courage of their own convictions.

Either they are unwilling to contact us, unable to contact us, or they don't exist.
