its a scary thought isn't to think we could all be living in a giant computer and being analysed by a super super intelligent alien civilisation?
*maybe our universe was created in a alien equivalent of the large hadron collider?


Five premises to the simulation argument

I find five premises to the simulation argument: (i) Other intelligent civilizations exist; (ii) their technologies grow exponentially; (iii) they do not all go extinct; (iv) there is no universal ban or barrier for running simulations; and (v) consciousness can be simulated.

If these five premises are true, I agree, humanity is likely living in a simulation. The logic seems sound, which means that if you don't accept (or don't want to accept) the conclusion, then you must reject at least one of the premises.

In one of the episodes, a theory is introduced, where our concept of reality is based on information projected as a hologram from the surface of a Super Black Hole. Anything is possible I suppose. I always wondered if when you walked into a room and forgot what you were going there for it's because the player cancelled your action and we are just sims. lol. But Reggie Watts made a good point in stating that either way the important thing is that this simulation is a good one. I can tell this mass of molecules that is my body to move from point A to point B. I can touch things and feel them and place them back down. Simulated or not this illusion of freewill is pretty satisfactory to me

There is an interesting statistical argument favouring the simulation.

Imagine by way of analogy you look around you and see a building and a hill.

There is only one real building and hill that looks exactly like that - the real one.

But there are millions of simulations: printed maps, geographical datasets, photographs, with varying resolutions and level of detail. Assign a number to each one. Roll a dice. What are the chances of rolling the number assigned to the real one?



Of course that doesn't prove its a simulation, but it is an interesting argument.

It is possible in theory but there is no way to know. As far as technology goes, a far advanced civilization could make a simulation like. If you look at history it does seem to unfold far wilder than the best writer or filmmaker could come up with.

The problem is that you end up with an infinite regress. If the universe is a computer program based on advanced technology, we could eventually create our own universe programs and within them, advanced races develop their own universes, and so on.

Don't panic. Demons use diamonds and souls to power their UFO craft. The bigger the diamond, the more it lasts. Nobody lives on other planets. Airplanes that go down are hit by demons because they need the airspace to fight Jesus. Antichrist is pale with red eyes. He's possessed by Satan since he's 12 years old. He flies. He wears gloves to hide long nails. He's surrounded by demons who appear as angels of light.



Don't go into a UFO to be healed by demons. 666 is given by isotope rays on wrist or forehead when people stretch hands to receive small plastic grey card with no name on it (World Passport). Police will microchip and isotope ray people on highways. Food stores will isotope ray people too. Antichrist will also release prisoners to mark people. Reject 666 at all cost. If you're about to be marked, pray the Jesus prayer. Hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666; leave all electronics behind so that antichrist's minions can't track you.



Give to charity in the name of Archangel Michael; he rescues people from hell twice a year (or brings them up a level, that is, to a level with less punishment; eventually, people are freed). Feed the pigeons; when pigeons bow down, people are saved from hell. Forgive me.
