Question:
Will the triple eclipse in 2012 end the world?

I just saw a documentary on the history channel stating that in Dec. 2012 we will have a major eclipse where the sun aligns w the earth, venus, & the center of the Milky Way Galaxy that will change the magnetic fields of the earth, therefore causing a domino effect that could destroy the earth!!!!! Does anyone know anything about this????

Please enlighten me!

What they actually said was 2012 will be an unusual(!) year because there will be three eclipses. A total eclipse of the Sun. An eclipse of the Sun by Venus. An eclipse of the centre of the galaxy by the Sun.

The first is not at all unusual - most years have total eclipses. The second is not an eclipse at all but a transit. The third isn't an eclipse either, but that doesn't matter because it's not physically possible for the Sun to line up with the centre of the galaxy, as seen from the Earth.

In summary - baloney.

You should check out some info on gravity, how can an eclipse change the Earths magnetic field? A few years ago all the planets lined up on the other side of the sun and Earth was by its self on the opposing side. Some seemed to think the combined mass of the planets together would combine with the sun's mass and pull the Earth out of its orbit. You may not realize this but the sun is so large that all the planets combined in no way affect the sun's gravitational pull of any thing. That is why the planets revolve around the sun in set elliptical obits and not otherwise. And Earth will not be at the center of the Milkyway in this millenium.

Complete nonsense from the History Channel. So what else is new?

There will be a transit of Venus in June 2012, just as there was in 2004. Note, June, not December. Transits of Venus across the face of the Sun happen eight years apart, then not for over a hundred years. At the present moment, Venus is getting close to being between Earth and the Sun and will be fairly close to us in several weeks time. However because the orbit of Venus is in a slightly different plane to that of the Earth, Venus will not be directly in line this time round. This "almost line up" happens more than once a year.

In 1769, James Cook set sail in the "Endeavour" to Tahiti taking naturalists and astonomers. The "Endeavour" was a ship designed to carry coal and one of the space shuttles is named after it. It was an English ship. The purpose was to measure the transit of Venus as part of a world-wide scientific effort. The idea was to calculate the distance to the Sun which was important for ship navigation. Having done this, Cook then opened "secret" orders which told him to search for the "great southern land" which was thought to exist.. He mapped the entire coast of New Zealand and the east coast of Australia, which until then were completely unknown.

There were probably eclipses of the Sun or Moon in 1769 too.

The Earth, Sun and the centre of the Galaxy cannot happen. This is because the plane of the orbit of the Earth is tilted in comparison to the line from the Earth to the Sun.

If you keep watching the History Channel you will see silly stuff about stray planets called either planet X or Nibiru which are supposed to damage or destroy the Earth in 2012, or nonsense about sun spots and pole shifts. If you think about them ,these supposed causes of disaster are not consistent with each other.

All this 2012 stuff is based on the fact that the Mayan long count of days runs out of numbers on 21 or 23 December 2012. While the Mayans made no prediction about this, modern woo-woos and frauds have grabbed the idea as an excuse for selling books and videos about the end of the world. Some make "documentaries" for TV shows. Some want you to join cults where they can brainwash you into handing over all you own. All this is close to a criminal enterprise.

Many TV channels will show anything, just so long as people will watch, it is not legally obscene and does not defame anyone who can afford to sue.

It's complete and utter garbage.

Everything you have heard about 2012 is full of half-truths and outright lies, with the following exceptions.

1. There will be an American presidential election in 2012.

2. The Summer Olympics will be in London in 2012.

3. The Planet Venus will transit the Sun in 2012. (The only effect of this will be that a small dot will be visible on the sun in telescopes that are adapted to look at the sun.)

4. There will be natural disasters, war, famine, plague, etc... but no more than in any other year.

That is all. Everything else is bull.

Nostradamus didn't predict anything for 2012.

Some people think the Mayans did, but they are wrong. The Mayan Calendar is just a very long calendar. It does NOT predict the end of the world. It just so happens that the Mayan version of "December 31, 1999" falls on what we would call "December 21, 2012." The Mayan calendar contains events that happen AFTER 2012, even after 4000 AD, so clearly the world will not "end" at this point.

(You'll remember that a lot of fools also thought the world was going to end in 12-31-1999, but it didn't. Same deal.)

The hoaxters mainly choose 12212012 because of numerology (which is also garbage) and the repeating and reversal of "12", and also because December 21 being the winter solstice, the day of least sunlight in the Northern hemisphere, it was considered the "End" of the year by MANY ancient civilizations. And that's ALL. They just had different ways of counting the years.

All the other predictions, "pole shifts" (which take thousands of years to even start) "galactic plane crossing" (a lie, we're far above the galactic plane and moving away from it, "galactic center alignment" (we don't even know exactly where the center of the galaxy IS, it's obscured by 30,000 light-years worth of gas and dust and stars, we can't see it, so how would we know if we're aligned with it?) "killer planet Nibiru' (physically impossible, or its gravity would have destroyed life here millions of years ago) and everything else, are completely and totally made-up.

There are NO scientists who believe in this 2012 nonsense. If you see somene claiming "scientists" said so, ask for names and degrees, because they either don't exist, or got their "degree" from some mail-in fake "university of pulp paper."

This answer will be thumbs-downed by crazy trolls who think that YouTube videos are "evidence," and by Shiny Space Hippies. They don't actually have any evidence, just bulls**t websites with fake data and fake pictures.

Probably not.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.

These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

The mayans did anticipate that the 5th international would end and the 6th international starts off on Dec 21, 2012. Others comprehend it because of the fact the large Celestial Conjunction. The solar passes promptly throughout the time of the dark Rift the place Ophiuchus. Sagittarius’s arrow will factor promptly at Scorpio’s stinger. the large Galactic bypass will align completely on the dark Rift. on the comparable time, the Earth bypass that circles earth additionally will line up on the midsection of the dark Rift, making an 8 factor bypass (Hendaye). the form is pointed out because of the fact the large Celestial Conjunction. that would probably be the top of mankind, yet who knows.

There is no 'triple eclipse'.

There is a total solar eclipse in November 2012, visible from parts of Australia. The transit of Venus occurs on June 5/6. The earth will *not* align with the galactic center, and the magnetic fields of earth are changing all of the time.

There is always one group or another saying that life on earth is going to end within the next 5 years. The last big one was the Y2K then before that there was the june 6th 1966 (6/6/66) and many many more. for as long as man has been on this planet there has been talk of how it is going to end. Don't worry about the world is not going to end.

And even if it does what are we going to except enjoy the ride

No! There are many such suggestions and rumors about 2012 being the end of the world. Not a single hypothesis has any basis in reality or science.

Given that is true, why would it matter? Not a thing anybody could do! Why worry about something no one has any control over?

My suggestion: Live every day as if it may be the last. Everybody dies sooner or later. Why waste time and energy worrying about "Possibilities"?

On the History Channel??? Those shows are all about hype and not about history, science, or reality for that matter. Look at all the UFO hunter shows on there. What's that have to do with real history?

Don't believe everything you see, hear, or read. Even from seemingly "reputable sources". Usually those types of shows leave out a lot and only interview certain "experts" that hold to the view their trying to sell to draw in more viewers.

Oh i saw that too! I've been so scared ever since i saw that! well i've heard about it before then i got over it but, thanks to the history chanel they reminded me of it! and my brother watches extreme trains on there and i have to leave the room whenever he watches it so i don't see that commercial for nostradomis or whatever that thing is

The people saying that all of the "rumors and predictions" of 2012 have absolutely no scientific basis in reality is lying through his teeth. I, in fact, have a video clip of one of the worlds leading physicists contradicting what this jerkoff is saying...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hujQg2E_fDw

But let me tell you just one more thing, junior. This is ONE WARNING. Just ONE! One of many many many many red flags that are suggesting that all hell is about to break loose. And this physicist is only addressing the simple sunspot problem, which could actually throw the planet into an ice age. But seriously, there are more very serious problems that legit scientists are addressing after repeated in depth scientific analysis of whats happening, and they're warnings are serious. Don't listen to retarded apes that don't know what their talking about.

A MASSIVE GAP IN THE EARTHS MAGNETIC FIELD JUST DETECTED BY NASA=NOT GOOD.

THE FACT THAT INCREASED SOLAR FLARE ACTIVITY IN 2012 DURING WHAT SCIENTISTS CALL A "SOLAR MAXIMUM" WILL BE BOMBARDING EARTH WITH HAZARDOUS RAYS WITHOUT THE SHIELDS UP(MAGNETIC FIELD)=NOT GOOD

BUT AGAIN, THIS IS THE SIMPLE PROBLEM. THERE ARE FAR MORE SERIOUS ONES COMING.

Winter solstice 2012 is just the revealing of the 'antichrist' or the 'man of perdition' at the mid-point of what Christians call the 7 year Tribulation (just subtract 1260 days to get the start and add 1260 days to get the end). Satanists and many pagan cultures from every corner of the world all throughout history have celebrated this like the Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching (confirmed by Terence McKenna), Mayans (Pacal Votan; Chilam Balam of Tizimin, Mani, Chumayel; Jaguar Prophet), Egyptians, Celts, etc. This evil event is called "the abomination that causes desolation" that will be set up in the Jewish Temple's Holy of Holies when the antichrist is imbued with the spirit of satan himself. When will Jesus come? Only God Himself knows exactly, but very soon in "the twinkling of an eye" and like "a thief in the night". If you believe or not, that is up to you; either way it still comes.
