I live in Charleston, SC and I have not been able to see the moon for weeks.
I've been looking at this phase calendar and is it saying it will be visible tonight?
Also you're probably wondering why I care...moon photography.

Well, here in China I've been able to see the moon quite clearly the past few nights. There are plenty of folk who watch the moon so no need to explain your motivation.

Keep in mind that as the Moon's phase changes, so does the time of day during which it's in the sky. When the Moon is new (as it was on 1 March), it rises and sets at about the same time as the Sun. As the Moon progresses through its phases, it rises and sets later in the day. Today, for example, the Moon is in its first quarter phase. It should rise about noon and set about midnight. When the Sun sets, the Moon should be high in the southern sky and should be easily visible for several hours, unless your view is blocked by tall buildings or trees.

In another week or so, the Moon will be full, and then it will rise at sunset and set at sunrise. It will be visible all night.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

The moon is quite visible in the evening.

I saw it last night at about 10:30pm. It was about half full and about 2/3 of the way across the sky.

Hmmm...I live in the Charleston area and the moon has not been absent. I would definitely try tonight.
