The Kenneth Arnold "flying saucer" sighting of 1947, is generally regarded as being the first. It is the first one that made the newspapers.

Okay, I saw something once that I am sure would have sent most other people into a tailspin of hysteria. But I stuck it out and figured out what it was. This is one, that if I had reported it, would have gone down as unexplained. It would have joined the hundreds of thousands of others which are just mistakes of perception and identification.

The Internet is loaded with UFO junk. So are the popular media. It's especially exciting for those who like to throw in a little government conspiracy, for enhancement.

In 1989, a man named Bob Lazar began his career as an Area 51 whistle-blower. At the very best, he is a misguided crackpot, but I tend to think he was an outright fraud. Anyway, it paid well, as he became the darling of the UFO/conspiracy subculture in the US. He was the beginning of all the Area 51 myths.

I find it interesting that he was supposedly revealing to the public the most top secret government information you could imagine, and yet he was never charged or prosecuted for it. Nor did he disappear or die in any mysterious "accident", either.

Kenneth A. Arnold (born March 29, 1915 in Sebeka, Minnesota; died January 16, 1984 in Bellevue, Washington) was an American businessman and pilot.

He is best-known for making what is generally considered the first widely reported unidentified flying object sighting in the United States

No I have never seen one.

question does not make any sense. i'm constructive all witnesses to unidentified flying products have been exceedingly confident on the time. like the 1st answer - the single in close encounters? perhaps you advise, whats the main infamous or everyday sighting ever. There are numerous yet all of them are inconclusive, debunked without concrete scientific information in any appreciate.

"Area 51" was closed down, moved, and renamed in the 1990's ! It's now just a tourist trap.

The chances of a UFO being from another planet are slim to none. The closest galaxy to us is Andromeda, and they're some two million light years away from us. That means it takes 2 million years just for the light from them to reach us. E=mc2 tells us space travel is not possible.

CENTRAL AFRICA, 1879.

A stone engraving was found in a cave in central Kenya with an image of a Flying Saucer sitting on 3 legs, with seven strange looking 'people' standing next to it. The largest one had a hand up making the gesture of 'Hello'. The stone was dated to near 400,000 years.

I'M KIDDING ! WHO CAN POSSIBLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION INTELLIGENTLY ? NO ONE.
