Life on Earth and the Universe

Earth is very unique from other celestial bodies because living organisms can survive in its conditions. No life is known to exist anywhere in the universe. In this required chat, you will need to compare Earth’s characteristics that allow it to support life with other planets and moons in our solar system.
Part 1: Earth’s Structure and Conditions

For this part, you will need to use the information in your lessons or from the web describing the characteristics of each planet. For the first three questions, you will compare Earth’s structures with those of two other planets or moons in our solar system. For the last question, you can make a general comparison with all other bodies in our solar system. You will need to answer the following in complete sentences and cite your sources for full credit.

How does Earth’s atmosphere compare with the two planets or moons you chose?
How does the solar energy Earth absorbs compare to the two planets or moons you chose?
How does the amount of water found on Earth compare with the two planets or moons you chose?
Compared to the other plants in our solar system, what condition on Earth exist that support life? Name three characteristics of Earth that allow life to thrive. Name three conditions of other planets and/or moons that prevent life from surviving.

Part 2: Life on Other Planets

NASA continues to look for planets and moons that have conditions similar to Earth and may be able to support life. NASA.gov is an online news source to use in keeping up with new developments regarding life elsewhere in the universe. Using your internet browser go to the NASA.gov website and perform a search for, "Kepler 22b. " Read the article titled, "NASA's Kepler Mission Confirms Its First Planet in Habitable Zone of Sun-like Star. " In a 3-5 sentence paragraph, explain what evidence in the article supports the belief that life could exist on Kepler 22b.

Life, Earth's very structure and conditions, have been brought about by a series of completely random and fortuitous events over Eons.

But.

There is no reason statistically that is hasn't happened somewhere else even in our Galaxy.

If life, even Microbial could be found elsewhere in our own Solar System, say under ice on a gas giant's Moon that would tip that same balance of probability.

See, I have even studied Law!!
