Nobody knows! There are a lot of questions regarding the universe and probably you can not get an accurate answer. Many people talks about 10 to 15 billions of years [look at that the range vary FIVE billion years], but then the question is : what was here before?

The universe is roughly 13.7 billion years old. Many interstellar bodies in the early universe have given off light that is just now reaching the earth. This means we see those objects as they were billions of years ago.

the universe is roughly 500 billion years old, since the Earth has been around for only 13.5 billion and the sun has been around for bout 20-50 billion
