Question:
Do You Believe In Aliens?

I believe in aliens...well, I believe that there has to be something out in the universe besides human beings, but the aliens that come down and abduct people, that's what I'm not 100% convinced about, I'm fairly convinced, but not 100% so I want to know what you all believe about aliens. Do aliens come and abduct people and fly over our planet? Is there any life out there in the universe at all?

First of all, whether aliens have come to visit this planet in the past or abducted people is very hard to determine between all the crazy people and government cover-ups. With that said, I believe it is naive to think that life does not exist anywhere in the universe. It is impossible to determine the probability of intelligent life in the universe because in the small amount we have explored does contain it, here on earth. This leads to two different theories. One, that life on earth is common and should occur in a certain pattern throughout the universe, or two, that the earth is the only one of its kind containing life in the entire universe. I personally believe the odds are that there is a great possibility that there is life somewhere out there.

There is likely to be life on some other planets. But it might only be bacteria, or the local equivalent of cows or trees. Whatever beings exist in remote regions of this galaxy or in other galaxies, they are almost certainly NOT visiting this planet.

The chances of any suitable planet developing life might not be high. Even if it does, there is absolutely no guarantee that the inhabitants will progress even to the stage of stone tools.

There is every indication that the speed of light is the absolute limit for any object that has mass.

This means that the amount of time spent in getting from one habitable planet to another could be measured in hundreds or thousands of years, perhaps even hundreds of thousands of years. While it is conceivable that an advanced race might have a life span of thousands of years, the though of a ten or hundred thousand year voyage is likely to put any one off, even an extraterrestrial enthusiast of going where no alien has gone before.

Now just supposing an advanced race of extraterrestrials has sprung up on a planet which happens to be relatively close. Somehow they detect that the Earth has life on it. Having spent a considerable time and a lot of effort getting to the Earth, these visitors then spend the next several Earth decades buzzing airlines or people on the ground, hanging around isolated areas and going beep-beep at lone travelers, farmers and kids in lover's lane.

Would you do this? Or would you land in the gardens of the Kremlin, The White House or Buckingham Palace and say "We're here!"

A few of them habitually abduct the same person many times for heaven only knows what reason The person's neighbours never notice a thing. Odd, that. Or maybe they have noticed, the abductee was always a bit odd and is getting odder.

There have been thousands of UFO reports. Most have been satisfactorily explained by known civil or military aircraft, meteorites, the planet Venus, unusual weather conditions and so forth.

Of the remainder, I'm certain that many can be put down to mistakes, ignorance, illusion, hallucination and fraud. Fraud seems to be one of the most common.

If you look at the UFO sites around the net, and the stuff that also appeared in magazines with regular UFO articles, what else do you find? Atlantis, Lemuria, astrology, conspiracy theories, the blasted Bermuda triangle, "we didn't go to the Moon" yadda t-yadda blah blah drivel snork drool; all of it loaded with unsupported assertions logical flaws and frequently, just plain lies.

When aliens finally reveal themselves, there will be nothing else in the media for the first few days, then Britney Spears will emerge over-refreshed from a party.

She will fall over, revealing some part of the Spears anatomy inadvertently. The incident will be beamed around the world and the poor old aliens will be forgotten in the furore over the glimpse of something that half the human race, maybe even all the human race has anyway.

Eventually the aliens will go away, scratching whatever passes for their heads and wondering W T H?

The latest theory we are all aliens and there is a hi probability that microbes may inhabit Venus atmosphere may have hitched a ride to earth on the back of the solar wind. So the universe is probably full of life but to little green or purple men is probably zilch. Since there no known technology or method to travel faster than light. For space travellers to reach us after they have detected our existence. By the time they arrive our species more would have gone the way of the dinosaurs!

Why does "there has to be something out in the universe"? I hear this trite cliche often on here. No one knows if there is life elsewhere in the universe, and we may never know for certain. The tales about alien abductions are too silly to be taken seriously. Most UFO's are identified soon. All of them could be, if we were able to gather more data. Many are hoaxes and delusions, of course. If any planet besides ours has life, it is much too distant for creatures from it to come here. No spaceship can travel anywhere near the speed of light. Einstein's equations show that, so read science, rather than UFO crap.

According to the Army files and also Cia files Aliens have been here since the Aztecs and Mayans . And have abducted thousands of humans from every nation thru the history since then. It`s said that in return they give nations secrets of things to make like wagons and carts ,cars,tv`sspaceships, vcr`s and dvd`s and microwave ovens how to build skyscrapers and satellite radios and many other gadgets. And they have spaceships that can gofaster than the speed of light. So it takes them only 33 years to reach earth .Well the close ones anyways. The more dangerous war type ones are more farther away and won`t reach Earth till 2062 .

A relative said that we are here from aliens as an experiment, and that is why they do not show themselves but we see them so much in the sky , watching us. Who knows , but there is more and more evidence of UFO sightings, even air force officers and retired military people are coming forward and telling what they saw.

With each star you see in the sky at night, there is an entire unexplored solar system! Think about each on like a grain of sand on the sea. Do you think that only our grain of sand could possibly be the only one with life on it? There is life in outer space for sure. The problem is the distance from us is too great to cross. It would be like something hopping from on top of one grain of sand to the next!

Alas, many other creatures and worlds and hardly anyway to see them. Makes you feel small huh?

They probably exist

Our galaxy is unimaginably huge...and thats nothing compared to the universe as a whole

But aliens can be plants, animals, or maybe creatures smarter than us but thats not probable

I believe that life exists elsewhere in the universe but not that little gray men are abducting red necks to do experiments. I do not believe that they have traveled to Earth or anywhere near Earth or our galaxy period.

Well... not sure why they'd need to abduct people if their technology was advanced enough to travel many, many light-years to get here. They may even be so advanced that they don't need to travel here to find out about us.

we are the aliens! dont you kno we originally came from mars, invaded earth and we didnt learn to conserve our resourse and protect mother mars so mother earth is going to be a desolete planet just like mars is and we need to find another habital planet to invade and live and start again.

how does that sound?? Too far fetched!

Of course is life on other planets, we are just one of a trillion planets, if there is water & traces of former living bacteria/cells on the planet next to us who knows what's out there. No way are we alone.

The odds of life not being out there are slim, but them being able to visit earth? I have serious doubts.

I believe in them. Haha, my grandma. She had this theory. I sort-of believe it.. She said that aliens might have made us as a experiment, who knows, they might be a species with advanced technology and stuff. Theres photographic proof of aliens, but no real proof. I believe. Like, the theory. (Idk if your catholic but whatevs.) That they might have created us instead of god. Theres proof of aliens but not God.. I don't truely believe that, but it's possible, you know? I believe there's aliens out there, and we should stay away from them, they could be dangorous..
2008-08-12 15:39:18 UTC
sure there is...whether they are years behind us or years ahead of us we dont know...what form or shape i'm sure we dont know...if they are advanced i dont think they are stupid enough to be seen or caught..but with all the planets and galaxies out there...there has to be other life forms..
