The generally-held theory is that the Sun's radiation drives away light elements and compounds like hydrogen and water from a region close to it. Therefore, close to the Sun, there's only rock and metal to make planets, while further away there's also ice and gas. There's more ice and gas around, so you get bigger planets.
This theory however seems to have been challenged by the observation of many other stars with gas giants orbiting close to their stars, where according to the theory they couldn't have formed. The prevailing explanation for that is that the planets formed further out then migrated inwards.
Gas giants close to their stars happen to be the easiest sort of planets to detect, much more obvious than giant planets further out or smaller planets close in. Therefore just because we find lots of them doesn't mean they're actually common, and we will probably need to improve our means of spotting extrasolar planets (which we are doing) in order to determine whether our current theories about planetary formation are basically correct or need major revision.

There are a couple of different things that come into play with this..
1. If they were to be brought closer to the sun the gravity of the 2 would bring about a collision course.. Meaning Jupitor would pull the sun into it and the sun would pull jupitor into it.. A planets mass and it's orbit are related.. The closer to the sun and the larger the mass the faster the rotation speed has to be to keep gravity from having the 2 crash into each other
2. The closer the sun you are the more intense solar flares are and the radiation.. It's typically accepted that this will "blow" the lighter elements that make up the gas giants away into space.. This is what's believed to have happened to the water that was once on Mars.. How ever if you have strong enough magnetic fields around the planet it is possible to stop this from happening.
I suppose it is possible for a gas giant to be as close to the sun as the Earth or Mars is... How ever the planet would need very very very strong magnetic fields around it to protect it from solar flares and radiation.. The rotation speed around it's star would also have to be very very very high. How ever it being this close would more then likely create a very un balanced rotation.. Imagine taking 2 balls trying them to opposites ends of a string and them spinning...

Pluto Is The Smallest Planet & It Is The Farthest One Also. The Answer To Your Question Would Be The Gravitational Properties Of Different Planets Are Different. So The Masses Are Different And Hence The Sizes.

beforehand of going to a hospital, purely depart the front shoes on and don't upload any hind shoes i does no longer make any modifications for some thing arising like that. once you get lower back, pull the front shoes. they do no longer 'take care of' cracks, they inspire them. Use fillers and boots (Renegade, elementary Boot, etc.) for cracks (and you in all probability ought to enable him relax positioned up-abscess besides), verify your feed to work out in case you like a hoof supplement to alleviate any brittleness, and get him a barefoot trim truly of a pasture trim to inspire hardening and discourage cracks. examine up on Jaime Johnson and Pete Ramey for information on protecting horses barefoot wisely. maximum modern-day farriers experienced to shoe don't understand a real barefoot trim and use a 'pasture trim' truly. there's a distinction. you need to use boots for severe terrain, yet my barefoot TB is going great in very almost all terrain... I purely boot if we journey on truly rocky trails. you're at an benefit on the grounds that your horse is so youthful his ft will advance up quicker. savour the hospital!

Thats a good question. Why are they all gas giants? Why do they all have rings? Its the nature of the sun and gravitational forces.

God made the back four planets bigger than the inner four to show us his mightiness. Science cannot explain it.
