In the very beginning of earth's history, this planet was a giant, red hot, roiling, boiling sea of molten rock - a magma ocean. The heat had been generated by the repeated high speed collisions of much smaller bodies of space rocks that continually clumped together as they collided to form this planet. As the collisions tapered off the earth began to cool, forming a thin crust on its surface. As the cooling continued, water vapor began to escape and condense in the earth's early atmosphere. Clouds formed and storms raged, raining more and more water down on the primitive earth, cooling the surface further until it was flooded with water, forming the seas.

It is theorized that the true age of the earth is about 4.6 billion years old, formed at about the same time as the rest of our solar system. The oldest rocks geologists have been able to find are 3.9 billion years old. Using radiometric dating methods to determine the age of rocks means scientists have to rely on when the rock was initially formed (as in - when its internal minerals first cooled). In the infancy of our home planet the entire earth was molten (melted) rock, a magma ocean.

Since we can only measure as far back in time as we had solid rock on this planet, we are limited in how we can measure the real age of the earth. Due to the forces of plate tectonics, our planet is also a very dynamic one; new mountains forming, old ones wearing down, volcanoes melting and reshaping new crust. The continual changing and reshaping of the earth's surface that involves the melting down and reconstructing of old rock has pretty much eliminated most of the original rocks that came with earth when it was newly formed. So the age is a theoretical age.

Well I'm going to say all three ways that i know that may or may not be true first there is the big bang theory there was a big gas bubble filled with all the mass in the universe it exploded to make all these planets and stares and it kept expanding and its still expanding to day then there is god christens believe that god made the Earth in 6 days the 7th day is the day of rest and then there's Scientology that's when people think that aliens came and planted volcanoes to make the Earth

So more about the big bang theory when the big red hot dot exploded it made all these planets but I'm talking about the Earth. The first years of the Earth (or some where around that time) the Earth was a big hot giant volcano (well the inside) all it was was big ball of lava the lava started to cool down then vapor came up and thin it rained (but not water more like acid) after millions of years the water purified to the water to day after that land starter to form then life and history that the Earth

Well the Universe was created through the BIG BANG (which is the most commonly believed theory). The Earth eventually was created about 9 billion years after the BIG BANG. The Earth's moon was made when an object the size of mars slammed into Earth and broke off a piece of it. The moon was trapped in Earth's gravitational pull and is why it still orbits the earth today. If you need to know anything else then just ask me at colbycarlone16@yahoo.com

The most popular theory of solar and planetary evolution is that it all stated with a giant nebula of dust and gas. Something disturbed this nebula to be disturbed (by a nearby supernovae for example). The nebula began to contract and spin. Denser material accreted near the center and formed the rocky planets and more gaseous planets formed farther out.

That's the standard theory. However the discovery of supper massive hot-Jupiters orbiting insanely close to their parent stars cast some serious doubt on this model.

i'm unlikely to attempt to verify a number of the great solutions you have won, i will in basic terms say we only ought to look at Saul and what he did have faith and then Christ became him around that he bacame the author of a great style of the NT books. in this admire only, in make no distinction what we believed, and so some distance as salvation is in touch, Christ died for us whilst we've been nevertheless sinners, so our salvation does not be counted on us even being stable. yet interior the tip in case you have not got faith the actuality approximately Christ, you're denying Him, God and the Holy Spirit. an extremely stable and nicely asked question, you have a puzzling time choosing the main suitable answer from thoes above mine.

Well, my answer would be religious, but since you don't want that answer......I think it was created by asteroids colliding with each other which resulted in this hot, fiery rock which evolved into the earth.

Well the only theory we have accepted it the big band theory, which is kind of shaky as you see. only something very smart and powerful could have done this....
