I've heard that any wireless tech will be down instantly but will everything that uses electricity stop working? Things like lights, TV's, house alarms etc?

No.

We've been hit by worse with no ill effects.

If it's a big solar storm, then some small areas might suffer loss of electricity for a small period of time, but it's very rare that a solar storm will shut down the electricity of large areas, like a whole county or state or city.

I expect the same thing to happen as for all these solar storms, ie. nothing:

Eventually, they'll tire of reporting what are effectively non-events for the vast majority of people.

not really its a solar storm most power plants will likley get messed up thats why there wont be power but its a solar storm SOLAR =solar panels solarpanels= free energy/electricity ._. i ride a bike and dont own a car and i have a pedal powered bike generator hooked to a 78 volt battery bank rechargable by pedal power its enough to run a medium sized mini fridge for a few days and as long as it stays charged almost anything i need to plug in except vacumes and **** ./_.
