I'm trying to figure out if my boyfriend and I were born on the same day.
My birthday's August 7th, his is August 8th.
He was born in the Philippines which is 14 hours ahead of California.
I was born at 8:15pm. If he was to be born on the same day, between what times would it have to be (in his time zone)?

CA observes daylight saving time in August. Depending on the year you were born in, The Philippines might or might not have been observing daylight saving time.

...Philippines

The Philippines introduced short periods of Daylight Saving Time between 1986 and 1998 to conserve energy, and in April 2006 the Department of Trade and Industry proposed that Daylight Saving Time again be implemented to combat rising oil prices. ..."

I've managed to confuse myself trying to do the calculation, so I'm not going to post any calculations. Probably it being 1:35 am CDT in the USA where I am has something to do with my confusion. Good Night in CA / Good Morning! (Mentally, my "day" doesn't start until some-when after 4 am whatever time zone I'm in.. I'm a night owl.

The Philippines are are in time zone UTC + 8 hours. California is in UTC - 7 hours (daylight saving in August). So the time difference is 15 hours. You were born at 15:15 UTC, August 7. He was born at least 2 hours 45 minutes after you, and at most 26 hours 45 minutes after you.

To be in the "same day", the difference needs to be less than 24 hours.

At midnight on the 7th it would be 2 pm there. So if he was born before then, it would be within the time period you call the 7th.
