Hey, we are practically neighbors. I live in Lombard.
Probably won't see anything. Too much light pollution in the Chicago metro area.

Northern Illinois has about a 25% chance of seeing aurora borealis on Tuesday January 24, 2012. This is primarily due to the solar blasts hitting the wrong side of the Earth tonight, and also possible cloud cover. Don't fret though, the sun is only at about 70% activity of its 11 year cycle, which restarts sometime early 2013. This particular eruption will likely last until very early Thursday morning. There will be plenty of solar eruption to see in the near future. I remember a few months back when the auroras could be seen as far south as Arkansas!
