I purchased a green laser pointer last week, its one of those flashlight style lasers and already the lens is dirty, I tried cleaning it with a cotton bud by poking it inside the hole where the lens is but it only made it more dirty. I can not get the dam thing clean!

Please help me.

If it's a glass lens, then what the above person said should work: acetone or rubbing alcohol with a Q-tip. If you think it might be an acrylic lens, vinegar should dissolve the skin oil.

If the Q-tip just leaves lint, try what they use to clean eyeglasses (at the drug store). You can even try the cleaning solution for plastic lenses.

You asked this question before. First of all, be aware that green lasers are highly dangerous and must not be pointed directly into an eye even momentarily. It can cause permanent damage to the retina.

You have to open it to clean it. To make it they assembled it so, there has to be a way to dis-assemble it. It may be difficult but can be done. You can contact the seller and he may advice you.

Clear lens of your laser pointer with dry soft cloth, usually a piece of soft cloth used for telescope lens cleaning can be workable. Please follow the laser pointer maintenance instruction below to clean your lens:

Maintenance tips:

● Clear lens of your laser with dry soft cloth.

● Avoid using laser pointers in extreme temperature and harsh environments.

● Turn off lasers while not being used.

● Never dissemble lasers aside putting batteries. Opening the laser will void the warranty.

If you can't clean it easily, then the lens is defective and you need to return it for your money back or a replacement unit. Laser pointer or LED Flashlight?

You can clean it with clean cloth dipped in alcohol, then erase it with a dry cloth.

It is better if you have notebook cleaning cloth or glass cleaning cloth.

Don't take apart of lens, much dust would come into it and make it more dirty.

Like mobile phone, never separate it.

Try Isoprop or, failing that, free acetone.
